August 19th Update

From Lindsey, an on the ground update:

First, two weeks at MDA is much too long.  Mom has tried everything on the full liquid diet menu and has started requesting anything homemade. Who knew MDA could have such terrible chicken broth.  The good news is we learned food doesn’t actually taste bad to her, it’s that THIS food tastes bad to her.  That’s a start.

Second, when does she get sprung out of here? I assure you, she wants to know the answer to that more than the rest of us.  Hoping to move towards that today, but it might be Tuesday or Wednesday.  There is a delicate dance of mediations going on here, but they are getting them right.  The nausea is getting much much better and she’s not (nor has she ever been) in pain.  She would, however, like a blow out and a pedicure. There are lots of services offered here, but not those.

She really appreciates all the texts and emails. They are coming in at a frantic speed, so sorry if there is a delayed reply.  Please know she is getting and reading everything.  She really is doing great, and expects for that to continue when she gets home, so she’s looking forward seeing all of your smiling faces when she gets home.  Just please excuse all the tubes. 😉

She’s only partially happy about this, but because pictures are worth a thousand words, here is her smiling face this morning.
