If there is anything we have learned over the past several years, it’s that things can change in an instant.
Mom’s surgery has been postponed to some date in the future. The trial drug needs to be out of her system for a month, which means surgery can’t happen until next week at the earliest. Doctor Bevers is on vacation starting this Thursday, so the plan now is to wait until his return to carry on.
This is, of course, subject to change on a whim.
Mom is taking this in stride. Naturally we all want the best possible outcome of the surgery, and the trial drug being in her system when they do surgery will not give the best outcome. But, understandably, delay is frustrating and heartbreaking.
