The Robert's shopping event was great...awesome...fantastic...supportive...encouraging...loving...filled with hugs...filled with shopping for all the ladies...happy...filled with joyful sounds...wonderful!!!! Thanks to all of you who came out to support me and the Ovarian Cancer Research Program at MD Anderson. And a super big thank you to all the folks at Robert's who made it all happen.
I have joked about never wanting to be a woman who had a signature color (ovarian cancer's color is teal)...but now I have one. And now I have a cause I believe in: research to find a cure and a test for the early detection of ovarian cancer! There is not a test for early detection now...which is why ovarian cancer is called the silent killer. By the time it is detected it is usually advanced making treatment less of a sure thing. So, thanks again to all of you who came to shop or donated to the cause. Your dollars will stay in Houston and will be used to make this cancer history!
Many of you asked if we will have a team this year for the Sprint for Life which is hosted by MD Anderson raising money for Ovarian Cancer Research. YES!! we will and I hope you will join us on Saturday, May 7th when we will be join forces with TEAM BELIEVE to make a really big group who can make a really big difference. Here is what you need to do...
Please go to sprintforlife.com and register for the 2016 Sprint for Life in the bottom right hand corner.
As you register there is a bullet for "Join A Team"; click on that bullet and it will ask you to select a team from the list.
Go to TEAM BELIEVE and click on our team. Then continue to finish the registration form.
We are also having our own TEAM BELIEVE t-shirt that will have our team name on the front and my name and those of others whom TEAM BELIEVE will be celebrating on the back of the shirt. If you would like a shirt...
go to this link https://www.customink.com/g/gas0-00ag-fnsa and order your shirt.
I will deliver your shirt before the race or have it for you that morning.
Tomorrow we celebrate Easter. He is Risen!
Love you all...
Dear Dee Dee,
ReplyDeleteWe are so thankful for your good news of the success of your treatments! Praise God for no evidence of cancer! Heather and I join your team of prayer warriors in thanksgiving and continued prayer on your march to being well.
We would have loved to participate in the Ovarian Cancer Walk on May 7th. That is Lyn's wedding day and we will be joining the family and a few friends in Austin that weekend.
We would like to donate. Can you tell me the best way to do that?
Love and blessings!
